Karma- The natural law of "cause and effect", also commonly
described as "an action and a resulting reaction over time", or "all caused effect will ultimately be experienced
by the self.", or "what goes around, comes around". You make a mistake, you pay the penalty - immediately,
in ten years time, or in ten centuries time. Errors must eventually be paid for. This law is put in place to govern the physical
universe upon its creation. Ignoring or violating it can bring serious consequences.
Karmic situation is a very complex matter, it involves good and bad karma
seeds planted over numerous lifetime span. So there are always positive and negative karmic forces at work at any
point of time. But all will mature and bear fruits (results). At the individual level, often it is most deeply felt when
a bad life experience is suddenly present, accompanied by pain, suffering and frustration. Most people feel
that bad things just keep happening to them. But in fact, we are creating our own realities all along.
This law
applies not just to an individual but also to a group of individuals of large proportion- a nation, or even the
entire human race on Earth, and beyond.
Understand
the law of karma will help us conceive that there really is no accident nor coincidence in life. Our world will be a much
better place to live if such law of nature is widely acknowledged, taught, and respected from the individual level and up.
We will be less inclined to take negative actions on others; love and compassion will be more predominant on this planet. There are other natural laws which are as important to know as the law of
karma. Deepak Chopra's book- The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success is a good reference.
